Humrich's Happenings

Happy Spring!!!
Kindergarten students are learning about the elements of art. We are learning how important line, shape, and color are in our artwork.

1st Graders are learning about texture and how to create texture in our artwork.

2-3 students are doing a unit on different styles of Japanese influenced art. Our first project is Notan design. We are exploring the concept of negative and positive space in our designs. Our second project is 'fish painting'. Our third Japanese project is a Batik project. We will be using resist on fabric and then painting our fabric designs with acrylic ink.

4-5 students are finishing their African Masks. We are now ready to take the test. This is an on line, open note test. The test will be available from Mar 2 to Mar 10th.

6th grade art class is working on their last assignment, the Fibonacci art project. They are now ready to take the Art test. This is an online, open note test. The test will be available from Mar 2-Mar 5th. The 6th grade student's art portfolio is also due on the evening of Mar 5th.
